A highly annoying (sentry 3v8) siren in Burlington, KS which is sounded at 8:00 AM and Noon as some kind of holdover from past days when people were too poor to own watches or to tell time.
All it's good for now is making the people in the neighborhood deaf and damaging the children's hearing at the elementary school a half a block away.
This siren is not activated for tornadoes, fires, Wolf Creek Emergencies or anything else even when our regular tornado/fire alert sirens have failed when needed.
If any of you want this one in your collection I won't tell anyone your taking it.... LOL
Maybe then I wont get my ass chewed the next time it shorts out on a holiday and I go out and shut it off rather than let it roll on for an hour while the 911 system gets clogged with people calling the sheriffs office asking why the tornado sirens are going off on a very cold winter day (the last time) or a bright sunny day ( the time before) or just wanting the damn thing shut off....
